Recipe Ingredients
- Butter or Margarine
- Granulated Sugar
- Brown Sugar, dark or light brown
- Egg
- Vanilla
- All-purpose Flour
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- Baking Soda
- Salt
- Dried Blueberries
- Chocolate Chips, dark chocolate, semi-sweet, or milk chocolate
How to make this recipe
- Step 1: Add softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar to the mixing bowl. Beat with a hand or stand mixer until creamy.
- Step 2: Next, add the egg and vanilla and mix until creamy and a little fluffy.
Tip
If you have trouble getting the brown sugar to blend (sometimes it likes to chunk up a bit) use a rubber spatula and press the lumps of brown sugar to the side of the bowl to break them down. This will help it blend up better.
- Step 3: To the creamed mixture add the all-purpose flour, the cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Step 4: Fold in the dried blueberries and chocolate chips. Mix until combined.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon and place the dough on a cookie sheet. Leave about 2 inches in between each cookie. Bake the cookies at 375-degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
Let the Blueberry Chocolate Chip Cookies cool a minute and then remove them from the cookie sheet to a cooling rack or lay them on a piece of foil or wax paper.
I either use a plastic container with a lid or a sealed plastic bag to store my cookies. They will stay fresh for several days.

- ¼ cup Granulated sugar
- ½ cup Dark brown sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- ¼ cup Unsweetened Cocoa baking powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Baking Soda
- ½ cup Dried blueberries
- 1 cup Chocolate chips

- Pre-heat the oven to 375-degrees.
- Cream the softened butter or margarine with the granulated sugar and brown sugar.
- Add the egg and vanilla and mix until creamy and fluffy.
- Next, add the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Either continue to blend with a hand mixer or use a wooden spoon or rubber spatula.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and dried blueberries.
- Drop by rounded tablespoon full, or use a cookie scoop, onto a baking sheet. Place the cookie dough at least 2 inches apart.
- Bake in a 375-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Cool for a minute on the baking sheet and then remove cookies to a cooling rack or a sheet of foil, parchment, or wax paper.
Notes
- You can definitely use semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips if you prefer them over the dark chocolate.
- Either light brown sugar or dark brown sugar work well.
- Try dried cherries or other dried fruit in place of the blueberries. I bet dried cherries or raspberries would be amazing!

My blueberries seem hard should I rehydrate them before baking? If so, how?
Thanks

Is it Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder or baking powder? I have never heard of cocoa baking powder! Please reply soon as I am in the middle of making these.
Thanks
