Having a fun, tasty mixed soda beverage to offer the kids always makes the day a little more special. With the addition of ginger ale and maraschino cherries, this Dr. Pepper Surprise has been a favorite of my daughter's for years.

A Dr. Pepper beverage in a glass with ice topped with maraschino cherries.

If your family likes special beverage treats, give this classic Shirley Temple and Fizzy Fresh Strawberry Lemonade a try. The strawberry lemonade is also made with ginger ale and fresh strawberry puree.

    Why we love this recipe

    • It's the perfect mix - It's the perfect mix of refreshing and sweet! Ice cold, bubbly soda, topped with the extra sweet bonus of cherries.
    • The maraschino cherries - Not only do we top this mixed soda drink with cherries, but a little bit of the maraschino cherry juice is also blended in with the soda. You get the cherry flavor throughout the beverage.
    • It is super easy to make - This Dr. Pepper Surprise is so simple that the kids will love making it for themselves and the rest of the family.

    Recipe ingredients

Maraschino cherries, dr. pepper, ginger ale, and a glass of ice on a table.

We all love drinks with maraschino cherries, right? Dr. Pepper, ginger ale, and maraschino cherries. The perfect blend for the ideal Dr. Pepper Cherry drink.

    Step-by-step directions

    1. Pour 4 ounces of Dr. Pepper into a glass.

    4. Next, add ice.

    Pro tip

If you don't have, or don't like Dr. Pepper, try this same mixed soda drink with Coca-Cola!
