What do you do when your husband has a garden FULL of pepper? You start adding them to everything!
My husband and son were eating these wonderful cookies as fast as I could get them out of the oven. I quickly grabbed a few so I could take pictures.
My husband east of a lot of hot peppers, so he didn't feel the heat as quickly as I did. I was surprised at how much everyone enjoyed them. Very tasty!
Don't like the heat? Leave out the Habaneros and you will still have a delicious Orange Chocolate Chip Cookie.
Remove the seeds and veins of the Habanero Pepper, then finely chop it. I had about a good solid 1 teaspoons worth. You might want to wear gloves. Remember, don't rub your eyes! Wash your hands well after this part.
Fresh out of the oven. There are Habaneros hiding in there somewhere!

Hi Keri, I’m thinking about making these for a cookie exchange! But I’m not a very seasoned baker. Does the recipe call for salted or unsalted butter?
Keri
Hi,
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Since the recipe already calls for salt, I would use unsalted butter. If you only have salted butter available, either omit or reduce the amount of salt called for in the recipe. I hope that helps! Let me know how they turn out.

These are excellent and were a big hit at work. The orange is sublime and gives a wonderful aftertaste. I made them first without any changes to the recipe and just now with triple the habanero because I like it. Thanks for posting this recipe.
