Oreo Poke Cake Ingredients
- Devils Food or Chocolate Cake Mix
- Eggs, Water, and Oil (usual ingredients called for on a cake mix)
- Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Heavy Cream
- Whipped Topping (Cool Whip)
- Oreo Cookies
Recipe Instructions
First things first, check the back of your cake mix box and preheat your oven to the temperature it says for a 9x13-inch pan.
Spray your baking dish with non-stick spray (don’t skip this unless you enjoy chiseling cake out of the pan).
Mix the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs per the package directions. Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and bake the cake according to the box directions.
When it’s done, pull it out of the oven and let it sit for just a few minutes. Then grab the handle of a wooden spoon (or something similar) and poke holes all over the top, about an inch apart.
In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk.
Pour that all over the warm cake. Yep, all of it. It’s going to soak in and make the cake super moist and rich.
Let the whole thing cool completely—no shortcuts here, or the whipped topping will melt. Once it’s cooled down, spread the whipped topping over the top nice and evenly.
Toss the Oreos in a zip-top bag and lightly crush them with a rolling pin or something heavy. Don’t get carried away, you want some bigger chunks.
Sprinkle the crushed cookies all over the cake.
You can serve it right away or pop it in the fridge for later. (It’s even better cold, just saying.)
