Recipe Directions
Preheat the oven to 375° Fahrenheit. Spray a 13 by 9 - inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for about 5 minutes, until they're bright green and just tender. Drain them well and set aside.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for about 3 minutes until they starts to soften. Stir in the garlic and mushrooms, and cook another 5-6 minutes, until the mushrooms release their juices and begin to brown.

Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir so everything gets coated.

Cook for about a minute, then slowly whisk in the broth.

Add the half-and-half. Keep stirring until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Add the creamy mushroom mixture to the green beans and combine well.

Pour everything into a 9x13-inch baking dish and sprinkle a little more cheese on top, if you like.

- 2 lbs Fresh Green Beans cleaned and trimmed

- 1 Onion small - finely chopped
- 2 Garlic Cloves minced
- 8 ounces Mushrooms sliced
- 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- 1 cup Half 'n Half or milk
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded - optional
- 1 ½ cups French Fried Onions divided
