Cut the bacon in half, then half again. Or, use more bacon and use a half of slice per date.
Cut each slice of Havarti Cheese into 4 strips.
Open up a date and stuff with a slice of cheese. Wrap the bacon around the date and secure with a toothpick.
Place the dates on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, flip over, and continue baking for 10 to 15 minutes.
Remove the dates from the oven when they have reached the desired color and crispness.
Sprinkle the dates with the chopped green onions. Serve when they have cooled slightly.
Notes
I like thick cut bacon. I cut in half, then I cut the halves in half. If you prefer more bacon, Use a half a slice of bacon per date.Other mild cheeses you can use in place of the Havarti Cheese Monterey Jack, Gouda, or a mild cheddar. I bet cream cheese would also be excellent to stuff these dates with.Mom Tip: Buy the dates that have already had the pits removed. It makes like a little bit easier.
