1 pound Ground Turkey, 1 Tablespoon Olive oil
Start to crumble up the ground turkey with a wooden spoon. Add the diced onion along with the Italian Seasoning, Garlic Powder, Red Pepper Flakes, Salt, and Black Pepper.
1 Onion, ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes, ¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder, 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning, ½ teaspoon Salt, ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
Cook the ground turkey, onion and spices until the ground turkey is no longer pink.
Next, add the fresh garlic and give a quick stir. Then add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and the bay leaf. Stir to combine.
Simmer the sauce for 10 - 20 minutes until everything is warm through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
Notes
Prepare the spaghetti while the sauce is simmering. If using ground beef, omit the olive oil and remember to drain off the excess grease after browning the meat. *For additional flavor you can add a diced up green bell pepper when you add the onion and seasonings.
