Dip the 1 ½ pounds Chicken Breast pieces into the egg mixture. Shake off excess egg, then coat them in the cornstarch.
Spray the air fryer basket with Cooking Spray
Shake off the excess cornstarch and place the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Lightly spray more cooking spray over the top of the chicken pieces.
Air fry the chicken pieces for 10 - 12 minutes, until golden brown, and the internal temperature has reached 165° Fahrenheit. Shake the basket half-way through cooking time.
While the chicken cooks, prepare the sauce by combining ½ cup Orange Juice, ¼ cup Soy Sauce, 3 tablespoons Honey, 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar, 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil, ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder, ½ teaspoon Ground Ginger, ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes, in a sauce pan.
Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Stir in the 1 tablespoon Cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water slurry and cook until thickened. About 2 minutes.
Toss the cooked chicken with the sauce.
Serve.
Notes
Tips for the chicken:Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket, or the chicken may not be crispy. Be sure to shake off excess egg, then cornstarch. Want to skip this part? Bake your favorite chicken nuggets and add this recipe for orange sauce. Tips for the sauce:If the sauce is too thick, add a bit more orange juice or water. Not thick enough? Add a little bit more cornstarch slurry. Want more heat? Add a bit more red pepper flakes. Storage:Store any leftover orange chicken in the refrigerator in a covered container. Use within 3 days. Reheat in the microwave, or air fryer at 350 degrees for 3 to 4 minutes.
