Start a large pan of water for the pasta. At the same time, heat up a skillet over medium to medium-high heat for the salmon.
When the water boils add the pasta. Add some olive oil to the skillet and start the salmon at the same time as the pasta. Put a lid on the skillet with the salmon and set the timer for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, chop up a few handfuls of asparagus into 1-inch pieces. You can also chop some fresh parsley if desired.
When the timer goes off, remove the salmon from the frying pan to a cutting board. Drain the pasta and set aside.
Add olive oil to the hot skillet and add the asparagus. Keep a close eye on it, the asparagus should be done in 1 to 2 minutes.
Cut the salmon into 1-inch squares. When the asparagus is fork tender, add the salmon. Add additional salt, pepper, garlic, and olive oil if desired. Stir well and mix with cooked pasta. Top with Parmesan and fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
I used a piece of fish with the skin on, so it didn't need to be turned while cooking.
