First of all, chop the dates into small pieces, about the size of the marshmallows, and put them in a bowl. Sprinkle the dates with the hot water. Stir and let set for a few minutes.
Put the mini marshmallows in a separate bowl and sprinkle them with the cream. Stir and let set for a few minutes.
Crush the graham crackers and reserve ¼ cup of the crumbs for later.
Take the remaining 1 ½ cups of crumbs and mix them with the marshmallows and dates. It is best to use your hands (it does get a bit messy, kind of like meatloaf). Make sure that all the ingredients are combined well.
On a piece of foil, parchment paper, or other work surface, sprinkle with the reserved graham cracker crumbs. Roll the date mixture into a log about 14 - 16 inches long, getting the outside coated in the crumbs. Wrap the date roll in wax paper and/or plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator. Chill well. It is best to let the date roll chill for at least 24 hours.
When ready to serve, sift powdered sugar over the date roll and cut into ¼" or so slices. Enjoy!
