  • 4 - 6 cups of ripe Peaches peeled (if desired) and sliced
  • 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • Dash of Nutmeg
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 cup Milk plus 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice or 1 cup of Buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons Butter melted

  • Peel and slice 4 - 6 cups of ripe peaches and place in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch for 4 cups of peaches, 1 1/2 tablespoons for 6 cups. Also, add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg. Stir well. Place the peaches in a skillet or baking dish that has been oiled or sprayed with non-stick spray.
  • If you are not using buttermilk, add the lemon to the milk and set aside for a few minutes.
  • In a bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a dash of nutmeg. Add the buttermilk (or lemon milk) and the melted butter. Stir. Pour the batter over the peaches.
  • Bake the cobbler in a 350 degree oven for 45 - 50 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly, but it is best served warm. Serve with vanilla ice cream or vanilla frozen yogurt.
