Tilapia Sandwich with Fresh Citrus Sauce

  • Fresh Tilapia Fillets
  • 1 Lemon juiced and zest removed
  • 1 cup Mayonaise
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Red Onion very finely chopped
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Dash of Hot Sauce if desired
  • Canola Oil
  • Buns
  • Fresh Spinach
  • Sliced Tomato
  • Sliced Red Onion


  • Reserve about 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to brush on the tilapia.
  • Mix together the mayo, ketchup, remaining lemon juice, lemon zest, red onion, and hot sauce. Salt and pepper to taste. Set sauce aside.
  • If they tilapia fillets are large, cut in half. Brush the fillets with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium to medium high heat. Sear the fish about 3 minutes per side, until done. Drizzle lemon juice over the cooked fillets.
  • Spread some of the sauce over the bun (toast the bun first if desired) . Layer the sandwich... spinach, fish, tomato, onion.
  • Enjoy!
