Sometimes you just want a piece of chocolate cake. No frills, just cake. This Skillet Chocolate Brownie Cake might just hit the spot!
The other night after dinner, and while the kids were outside playing, I put this together. I was thinking cake, and what I ended up with was more like a brownie. But that is okay. This "brownie cake" settled my craving just fine, and as a bonus, the kids loved it.
It was called a cake, and it was called a brownie. We ended up naming it Skillet Chocolate Brownie Cake. It will be easier to cut if you wait for it to cool, but I understand if you want to dig right in. So what if it crumbles a little. I think next time I make this I am going to top off a warm piece with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
This recipe is super easy and super quick.
Delicious!
Skillet Chocolate Brownie Cake
1 Egg
¾ cup Greek Yogurt, plain or vanilla (I used vanilla)
¼ cup Canola Oil
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Flour
⅓ cup Cocoa Powder
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
½ teaspoon Salt
Dash of Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Whisk together egg, yogurt, oil, and vanilla. Add sugar and mix well.
In a separate bowl combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add to liquids and stir until combined. The batter will be thick. Pour batter into an oiled 10" skillet.
Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comesout clean when inserted into the center. Cool slightly. Serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or ice cream.
