This is for my son and husband. They both love Blue Cheese Burgers, but we never seem to be able to get enough Blue Cheese on the burger to satisfy them. So we made these Open Faced Blue Cheese Burgers.
I made open faced sandwiches, and just poured some of my Blue Cheese Dressing over the top, and finished them up with some slices of bacon.
I started off by making some of my Blue Cheese Dressing. Add a little less milk to this recipe if you want a thicker sauce for your burgers.
Open Faced Blue Cheese Burgers
Start off by mixing up the Blue Cheese Dressing in the link above, or use your favorite dressing. Next, I cooked up some bacon, sliced tomatoes, washed lettuce, and made hamburg patties. Set everything aside for now.
Take some Texas Toast, or French Toast Bread, and lightly brush a little Olive Oil (I used Garlic Olive Oil) on both sides.
Throw the bread on the grill and toast it up. Don’t worry about that burnt one in the back, it still got eaten. *Note to self… that part of the grill gets really hot!
When the toast is ready, throw the burgers on the grill. The burgers I made were just a little over a quarter of a pound each, and they took around 3 minutes per side.
Here come the juices, they are ready to flip.
These guys are done! Can you tell how much we use our grill? Hubby has been out shopping for a new one. I’m sure it won’t be long before he finds just the right one.
Assemble the burger however you like. I put toast, lettuce, tomato, burger, dressing, crumbled a little extra Blue Cheese on, then topped it all off with a little bacon.
Now, I am not a fan of Blue Cheese Dressing, but that is okay. I enjoyed mine with some of my Homemade Ranch Dressing. Yum!
