Homemade Shake and Bake
Here is a recipe for Homemade Shake and Bake that I use as a simple & tasty alternative to good ol' Shake 'n Bake. It works well for both chicken and pork.
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs, plain
  • 1 cup Panko
  • 1½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1½ teaspoons Pepper
  • 1½ teaspoons Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Celery Seed
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 1 /2 teaspoons Parsley
  • 2 tablespoons Canola Oil
  1. Put all the ingredients in a bag, close it and mix well.
  2. Add the pork or chicken one piece at a time and shake.
  3. Place the meat on a cooking sheet covered with foil and sprayed with non-stick spray.
  4. Bake the pork chops in a 400 degree oven for 20 - 25 minutes, or until done depending on the thickness of the chops. Temperture should reach 145 degrees.
  5. Bake the chicken in a 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes for boneless, about 45 minutes for bone in or until done. Temperature should reach 165 degrees.
