Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Scones
  • 1¼ cup Flour
  • 3 tablespoons Cocoa Powder
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Butter, cold and cut into pieces
  • 1 Egg
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • ½ - 1 cup Peanut Butter Chips
  1. Put the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder and salt in a food processor. Pulse to blend. Add the pieces of butter and pulse until the butter is mixed well into the flour.
  2. Add the egg and milk and mix just until blended. Add the chips and pulse again. Dump the mixture out onto a floured surface and form into a circle and press until dough is about 1 inch thick. Cut into 6 or 8 triangles.
  3. Transfer scones onto a prepared cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 10 -15 minutes, until done.
  4. Make a glaze of 1 cup powdered sugar, plus just enough milk to get a thin consistency, and drizzle over warm scones. Serve.
*I originally made 6 scones with this recipe. 8 may have been better.

*The scones are better when warm. You can warm them up slightly by putting them on a microwave safe plate, and covering with a damp paper towel. They will probably take 10 - 20 seconds to heat, depending on the microwave.
