The other day I bought a jar of orange marmalade for something I wanted to try, but somehow I went in a completely different direction and ended up with these wonderful Orange Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls. Let me tell you, they are scrumptious!
Sometimes when you go in a different way than you planned, it really pays off.
For this recipe, I used frozen bread so it was really simple to prepare.
If you don’t want to use frozen dough, try the dough recipe here… You will also need your favorite orange marmalade, cream cheese, cinnamon, sugar, butter (optional) and powdered sugar.
Mix softened cream cheese, orange marmalade, sugar, and cinnamon.
Roll out the dough into a 10 x 12 inch rectangle. You can spread it with a couple of tablespoons of butter if you like, I made these rolls both with and without the butter. Good either way!
Spread 1/2 of the orange cream cheese mixture onto the dough.
Roll up the dough and cut into 12 even pieces.
Place the Orange Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls slices into a pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.
Let them raise to at least double in size.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly.
Take the rest of the orange cream cheese filling and add some powdered sugar and frost the Orange Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls. I do this while the dough is rising. Store the frosting in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Don’t they look delicious! Yum!
Store leftovers in refrigerator. They warm up nicely in the microwave. Ours took about 15 seconds at 50% power. Delicious!
